New Project – Arts.For.Equity

August 30, 2009 | Filed under: Youth

graffiti460As part of our exciting new “Project Peace” initiative funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, Multiculturalism Program, we are proud to announce the first annual Arts.For.Equity workshop series, taking place from August 31 – September 4, 2009.

Presented in partnership with Manifesto Community Projects, Unity Charity, and the Art Gallery of Ontario, the 5-day workshop series will present youth from across the GTA with a unique opportunity to participate in diversity training, while simultaneously developing new skills in a variety of art forms – from dance and photography to visual and performance art.

The youth will then use their newly acquired artistic skills to express their understanding of diversity and equity in their communities at an exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario in the fall! The project is open to youth ages 13-18.
