Harmony
Youth Council

Giving youth opportunities to actively speak up about issues affecting their communities
This council is run entirely by youth, with the help and guidance of staff of Harmony Movement. Individuals between the ages of 13-24 are encouraged to join the council and take responsibility and participate in bettering the human condition in Canada. Through the creation of for-youth-by-youth initiatives, unique volunteering opportunities, discussion forums and events, the council will enable youth to take action and “Be the Change” within their community.
Current executive members:
Alexandria Leosis: Chairperson
Alex is going into grade 12 at Ursula Franklin Academy this fall. She has been involved with the Harmony Movement Youth Council since grade 9. When she graduates, she hopes to go to University in BC, so she can be close to the ski mountains and one day join the Coast Guard as a rescue diver or become a social worker. Alex LOVES sports. This year she was one of the Captains of the swim team and a member of the softball team. She enjoys biking, cooking, dancing, old school hip-hop music, volunteering and chilling out with friends. She wants to see a change in the world and is being that change by being a part of the youth council.
Subashini Nalin: Executive Member
Subashini is 16 years old and lives in the east end of Toronto. She currently attends Pope John Paul II C.S.S. She joined the Harmony Movement because she is eager to get involved and help educate people about discrimination. She wants to help ”Be the Change.” In the future, Subashini wants to pursue a career in the medical field. Her goal in life is to help others with theirs.
