Cheuk Kwan

Executive Director

Cheuk Kwan joined Harmony in 1996 as Project Director after a twenty-year career in technology management. In 1978, Cheuk co-founded The Asianadian, a magazine generally credited for nurturing an entire generation of Asian Canadians in arts and cultural activism. In 1979, Cheuk helped lead a community protest against racist portrayal of Chinese Canadians by CTV network and helped established the Chinese Canadian National Council. Cheuk is also a filmmaker and recently completed his Chinese Restaurants documentary series about the Chinese diaspora.


Education Director

Letecia Rose is a youth advocate passionate about empowering youth to become the leaders of their own schools and communities, using anti-oppression and popular education methods.  While obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Society from York University, she has been involved in developing and implementing various programs and initiatives with community agencies and various school boards that allow youth to embrace diversity while facilitating youth leadership skills and advancement.  Working the area of equity and diversity, community engagement, and social justice for over seven years as a volunteer and youth program coordinator, Letecia remains involved in creating inclusive, youth-centered learning communities across the GTA and beyond.

Community Programs Director

Nana Yanful has extensive professional and academic experience in social justice, anti-oppression community development and anti-racism education. She holds an Honours B.Sc. in Life Sciences and Equity Studies from the University of Toronto and has worked with organizations such as the United Nations, the United Way of Canada and Canadian Heritage, focusing on addressing barriers to equitable inclusion in our communities. Nana is passionate about helping youth to become leaders in their own schools and communities, using anti-oppression education methods.


Jennifer Hartman

Program Officer

Jennifer Hartman has a B.A. in Communication Studies and Film Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University as well as an ESL teaching certificate. While attending university, Jennifer held different coordinator positions at the university’s Women’s Centre, in addition to acting as a director of two university charity performances to raise money for local women’s centers and shelters. Jennifer pioneered the Harmony LINKS program, an off-site weekend retreat for school graduates of Harmony’s diversity programs.

Program Officer

Silvianna Muscedere is an advocate for human rights and social justice. She works from an anti-oppression framework, promoting equity, inclusion and understanding for all. She has professional experience working with disadvantaged youth and individuals in social housing. Silvianna holds an Honours B.A. in Criminology from York University and has extensive experience with Aboriginal issues, discrimination in Canada law, and anti-racism.
