Harmony Movement (www.harmony.ca) is a leading provider of diversity education in Ontario. We are a non-profit organization that works to build inclusive schools, communities, and workplaces by educating and empowering individuals to take action. We collaborate with school boards, community partners, and organizations across the province to deliver customized education programs, leadership development, conferences, and projects that meet the needs of participants.
We are seeking one part-time Program Facilitator to deliver programs—primarily in person—to youth, educators, and occasionally workplace groups. The successful applicant will work closely with the Harmony Movement team to design and facilitate workshops that build understanding, encourage storytelling, and empower participants to create more inclusive communities.
Our programs explore identity, stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, media literacy, historical inequities in Canada, and leadership for equity and inclusion. Through storytelling and dialogue, participants learn to reflect on their own experiences, build empathy, and take action to create welcoming spaces where everyone can thrive. This position reports to the Director of Programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate engaging workshops and leadership programs for youth, parents/caregivers, and educators, working independently and with co-facilitators.
- Develop and deliver interactive content that empowers participants to use their own experiences to build understanding and strengthen inclusive communities.
- Collaborate with schools and community partners to assess needs, identify learning goals, and create content that resonates with diverse learning styles.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners to support program reach and impact.
- Support all aspects of program delivery, including data gathering, evaluation, reporting, and community development.
- Travel regularly within the GTA and occasionally across Ontario (including some overnight stays).
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma with at least one year of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in place of formal education.
- Experience facilitating workshops or group activities with youth and adults in classrooms or community settings.
- A personal and professional commitment to equity, inclusion, and creating spaces where diverse voices are heard.
- Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to use storytelling—your own and participants’—to build understanding and engagement.
- Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to create accessible, high-quality materials.
- Strong research, planning, and project management skills, with the ability to balance independent work and collaboration.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to working flexibly in a remote professional environment.
- Clearance from a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Details:
- Part-time contract position with flexible scheduling (approx. 8–20 hours per month).
- Daytime weekday availability is necessary.
- Rates start at $30/hour and may increase with experience. Flat program rates can also be negotiated.
