How can we better support educators in preventing and responding to hate in schools?
That’s the question at the heart of Harmony Movement’s Safe Schools Against Hate Project—a national initiative that will bring together trusted educational resources, promising practices, and practical tools into a single online hub designed to help educators create safer, more inclusive learning environments.
To help shape this work, we are inviting applications to join our Safe Schools Against Hate Advisory Circle.
The Advisory Circle will bring together approximately 10 members from across Canada, including students, educators, school administrators, school board staff, human rights professionals, community organizations, and other members of school communities. Together, members will provide guidance and feedback throughout the project to ensure the final hub reflects the diverse realities, experiences, and needs of schools across the country.
Advisory Circle members will contribute to discussions on the project’s direction, stakeholder engagement, the development of the online educational hub, and the final report, helping ensure the resources are practical, accessible, and relevant for educators.
Members will participate in five virtual meetings between August 2026 and Fall 2027 (approximately 90 minutes each) and may be invited to provide occasional feedback by email. Participants will receive a $250 honorarium in recognition of their time and expertise.
We are seeking representation from different regions of Canada and a broad range of perspectives within school communities. Whether you work directly in education, support students and families, or bring expertise in human rights, anti-hate education, or community engagement, we encourage you to apply.
The application takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and no résumé or CV is required.
Applications close on August 11, 2026.
Apply today and help shape a national resource that will support educators and strengthen efforts to create safe, inclusive, and respectful schools across Canada.
